Being here in the Searsport District High School/Middle School (SDHS/MS) is a wonderful change from my previous work in the US Postal Service. Many have asked why I left a great job with USPS... let's just say it was time. It is never the right time to take a reduction in salary, but the growth opportunity made it the best choice for now. My role here is AmeriCorps VISTA and my task is to develop and grow the structure and opportunities for student centered multiple pathways. More on that later...
Why a blog? Well, it may help me organize my thoughts during this assignment, but I am also looking for ways to communicate with students that can help me do my work better. I thought about using it for announcements at school and also for a way to get input about what is most wanted here by both students and staff.
